My Story
When I was pregnant 14 years ago, I wanted to have a home birth and to exclusively breastfeed.
In the event, after an emergency C-section.
With no dedicated one-to-one support to help me establish breastfeeding, I really struggled.
I remember sitting in my bedroom crying because my baby was crying, because I couldn't breastfeed.
I ended up regularly "topping up" with infant formula.
I wish that I had known then what I know now.
I wish I had known then by NOT exclusively breastfeeding, this could have impacted the development of my baby's gut microbiome.
I wish I had known then that exclusive access to human milk is needed for optimal immune training.
I wish I had known then that by NOT exclusively breastfeeding, this would have impacted my child's lifelong health.

Why did I create this breastfeeding event?
EVERY HEALTH PROFESSIONAL who supports parents during pregnancy, birth and early infancy needs to understand the science of human milk.
This information can help you fully support parents with informed choice about how they feed their baby.
We feel so passionate about this, that my partner Alex and I travelled thousands of miles to interview some of the world's top lactation scientists.
We spent our own money doing this. We receive NO outside funding.
